Real Project Context

No UX Phase — Client's Decision

This project had no research phase and no Design Thinking process. The client had limited budget and time, and needed a functional platform in production as quickly as possible. The challenge was designing a usable, coherent, and scalable interface working directly from the brief — with no prior user data. The product has been live in production since 2024.

This case study demonstrates something a full-process project can't: the ability to make sound design decisions under real pressure, within the budget and time constraints that define the majority of real-world projects.

My Role

UI Design
Role-based system design
Complex data management
Transactional flow design

Gestión de datos complejos
Diseño de flujos transaccionales

Diseño de flujos transaccionales

I led the interface design alongside a working team, owning all UI decisions, the system's visual coherence, and the screen architecture across user roles. I worked directly with the development team to ensure designs could be implemented within the agreed timeline.

The Problem

KCN Dynamics is a web platform that allows networking club members to conduct internal transactions, promote their services, and manage their business relationships securely. The previous product lacked sufficient transaction control and offered no differentiated experience by user type.

The client needed a new product that centralized transaction management, user administration, and business oversight — with personalized dashboards tailored to each person's role within the club.

Design Decisions — Screen by Screen

Without prior research, every UI decision was reasoned from usability principles, business logic, and requirements declared by the client. Here's the rationale behind each delivered screen.

01.

Member Dashboard: Home With Wallet Balance

The most important entry point for a networking club user is immediate visibility into their current financial status and available actions. I designed a clean dashboard with the wallet balance in the dominant position and direct access to the most-used functions — eliminating anything that didn't serve the primary flow.

02.

Transfers Interface: Full Flow With Advanced Filters

Financial transaction platforms generate high volumes of records. Without filters, users lose control of their history. I designed the transfers view with advanced filters, generic date-based search, and a step-by-step flow for initiating new transfers — reducing the margin for error in operations involving real money.

03.

User Profile: Differentiated Sections

For the profile I chose a dedicated page. It keeps the user in context without interrupting their workflow, and organizes data, passwords, PIN, and services into tabs within the same space — reducing cognitive load.

User Management for Administrator

The administrator needs full account control without operational complexity. I designed the interface prioritizing account status visibility and the most frequent actions in the foreground. System security required every critical action to include an explicit confirmation step.

05.

Advanced Filter in User View

With hundreds of active club members, simple search wasn't sufficient. I implemented an advanced filter system that allows segmentation by multiple simultaneous criteria, giving the administrator granular visibility without needing to export data or leave the platform.

06.

Administrator Transfers: Key Fields Always Visible

Administrative transfers require more context than member-level ones. I designed the interface with key fields permanently visible: service, transfer type, amount, concept, requesting user, and recipient. The goal was to eliminate the need to open individual records just to understand the status of each operation.

07.

Administrator Profile: Integrated Mini Dashboard

Administrators need to monitor overall system health without navigating between sections. I integrated a wallet-style mini panel directly into the profile view showing cancellations, purchases, upsells, and deposits in a single screen. The manager gets a read on the system's pulse from anywhere in the platform.

Role System — Differentiated Design by Profile

One of the biggest challenges on this project was designing a platform that behaved differently depending on who was using it — while maintaining visual coherence across the entire system. Each role accesses distinct functionality and dashboards adapted to their specific needs.

Club Member

  • Dashboard with wallet balance

  • Transfer history and flow

  • Profile with personal data and PIN

  • Own services listing

Administrator

  • Full user management

  • Transfers with extended fields

  • Operations mini dashboard

  • Permission assignment

Result

The platform was implemented and delivered to the client in 2 months. It remains live in production. The client received a functional product with a coherent interface and usable flows — within the real budget and time constraints the project carried.

There was no formal research — but there was judgment. Every screen has a documentable design rationale, and every decision was made from usability principles, not aesthetic intuition.

What This Project Demonstrates

I know how to design when conditions aren't ideal — which describes 80% of real projects. Limited budget, tight deadlines, and no user data aren't exceptions in this industry. They're the norm. This project demonstrates that I can deliver usable, coherent UI in production under those conditions, without sacrificing the reasoning behind every decision.
